Our Vision

Our vision is to be a church family who shares life together on mission as we are shaped by the gospel.

Being shaped by the gospel. Our vision is for every member of our church family to clearly understand the gospel and to apply it to all areas of their lives. The gospel, which is the take-home message of the Bible, teaches us that God is making all things right through his Son, Jesus Christ (see here for more). As a church we want Jesus to be central to who we are and everything that we do. To this end, we meet around God’s word, the Bible, in a variety of contexts. From faithful, clear and relevant sermons that show how to interpret the entire Bible in light of Jesus, to our children’s and youth programs, to studying the Bible together in a way that helps us read the Bible well for ourselves and apply it to our lives, to meeting one-on-one in order to build one another up.

"They devoted themselves to the Apostles’ teaching" Acts 2.

Sharing life together. Our vision is to have a network of Gospel Community Groups throughout our city and district. Our Gospel Community Groups are a bit like Growth Groups/Homegroups on steroids. They focus not only on us being united and shaped by the gospel, but also, as a result of the gospel, they also focus on us having authentic community together. This is because God is forming for himself a new community that has the Lord Jesus at the centre. Our Gospel Community Groups seek to follow the example of God’s newborn community—the church—as seen in Acts chapter 2. Not only do they devote themselves to the apostles’ teaching, but they also devote themselves to sharing everyday life, caring for one another and praying together.

"Every day … they broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God" Acts 2.

Being on mission. Our vision is for God to bless the city of Wagga Wagga through us. Not only physically, but moreover spiritually, as people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. We want everyone in our church family to see themselves as a missionary called to share the gospel with a world that so badly needs Jesus: seeking to form genuine friendships, inviting friends to see first-hand what God is doing among us as we share life together, and, when appropriate, inviting them to take a step towards learning more about who Jesus is and why he matters.

"[Jesus said] by this all people will know that you are my disciples: if you have love for one another" John 13.

"On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria [...and they all] went about preaching the word" Acts 8.
